There is a common trend among Africans or perhaps Nigerians living abroad (Europe, UK and Americas) to cultivate 2 wives and run 2 home consecutively. One, is the female they met abroad that facilitated their settlement in that country by forming a relationship/marriage with such women – who may be white or black, but either way are citizens of the country they wish to settle in and the second is their “REAL” wife, that lives in Nigeria and breed kids for them, there is a very huge number of people in this bracket, a lot more than you can ever imagine and you certainly do not get to hear of them much because except you are personally related to one of them you wont know the story.
With situation like the one I described above comes the question of fidelity in relationships, how do the man living in another country stay faithful to his wife in Nigeria, whom he occasionally travel to impregnate her and jet right back out of the country again? Just how? Ofcourse none of these people will ever admit to such practise even if caught in the act (especially Nigerians, Nigerians never admit to anything bad – this is a unique ‘talent’ to cook up blame stories that has been passed on from generations past) – But the real stories we have heard has proven that fidelity is a big deal when a married couple are living apart for 5 – 10 years in the name of trying to sort out greener pastures, what are your thought in this kind of situations? Is it worth the hustle or it is just plain wrong and should never be encouraged? Or should the women left back home be able to be free to have 2 partners as well? to satisfy her physical desire?
