It was very clear at the turn of the new year that Lil’ Wayne was on a mission to have a better year than he did in 2013, in which his output of music (I Am Not A Human Being II, Dedication 5) was largely ignored by major media platforms, prompting Weezy to send out this tweet.

He’s surely done that, and with a flurry of solid guest verses, YMCMB collaborations and three stellar singles to call his own, Weezy has re-established his position among rap’s elite, and he looks to close out the 4th quarter confirming just that with the 5th installment of the Tha Carter series, Tha Carter V. According to Weezy, as told to Stephen A. Smith on this morning’s episode of First Take, Tha Carter V will be out on October 28th, and Wayne took the liberty of revealing the album’s artwork for the first time as well.
