In Year 2014 when Olamide unveiled Lil Kesh alongside Viktoh as new YBNL acts, many didn’t bother about the duration of the deal he signed with them.

Lil Kesh became an instant hit-maker after he released his debut single, “Shoki” which didn’t only shake Nigeria, but took Africa by storm. “Shoki” opened a lot of doors for Lil Kesh; he started getting offers from A-listers to feature on their songs.

The remix of “Shoki” which featured Olamide and Davido took Lil Kesh to his very first international performance, 2014 Channel O Music Video Awards, held at the Expo Center, in Soweto, South Africa.

As required of a label boss, Olamide has been standing firm behind all his artistes, from Lil Kesh to Adekunle Gold and the rest, even, when the report that Lil Kesh “is going to leave Olamide” surfaced, Baddo clapped back and went on a twitter rant to show he wishes all his acts well.

Olamide reminded fans that, he only gave them two years contract. Not long after his twitter rants, Lil Kesh moved out from his mainland residence to a posh apartment in Chevron drive, Lekki. Kesh also set up a home studio where he finished the recording of his first album ‘Y.A.G.I,’ this is a sign that Olamide has never been in control of their entire life.

Not only that, vividly we can still recall the recent outburst of Olamide at the Headies Awards 2015, where he protested against Lil Kesh losing the Rookie Of The Year Award to Mavin Records’ Reekado Banks in 2014, as well as the Next Rated Award in 2015.

Now that the two years contract with Lil Kesh has expired, after being nurtured by his YBNL boss, Kesh is set to move on and capable of managing things on his own. “Olamide has been training them all to stand on their own and Kesh was the first to blow that’s why he’s the first to move on,” a source explained to thenet.

It was also confirmed that indeed Lil Kesh is floating a label of his own that he intends to start as a movement, Lil Kesh and Olamide are in very good terms and his contract with YBNL already expired a few weeks ago.
