Liam Payne, former member of the world-renowned British boy band One Direction, has tragically passed away after falling from the third floor of his hotel in Buenos Aires, Argentina.
The 31-year-old artist had been staying at the CasaSur hotel in the Palermo district, according to local authorities.
The Buenos Aires police released a statement confirming they responded to a call reporting “an aggressive man who may have been under the influence of drugs and alcohol.”
When emergency responders arrived, they found Payne’s body in the hotel’s interior patio and pronounced him dead at the scene.
Payne gained global fame as part of One Direction, performing alongside Harry Styles, Zayn Malik, Niall Horan, and Louis Tomlinson. The band became one of the best-selling musical acts of the 2010s before going on hiatus in 2016.
