Obasi who had been battling with a kidney related ailment for over a year was recommended for a transplant but couldn’t travel because of lack of funds. it was gathered that Obasi needed about N10m to replace his two failed kidneys in India.
He died in his Enugu residence on Friday, October 26, 2012, after he reportedly slipped into unconsciousness.
