Dele Olawanle, the lawyer representing Pastor Tobi Adegboyega, has dismissed claims that his client is being deported from the United Kingdom.
Recent reports alleged that the Nigerian pastor, whose church was previously shut down over accusations of fraud, had lost a legal battle against deportation and was set to be sent back to Nigeria.
In a statement issued on Wednesday, Olawanle denied these allegations, clarifying that Pastor Tobi is not facing deportation. He criticized the publication behind the report, accusing it of a lack of understanding of basic immigration laws.
“Deportation applies to criminals, which Pastor Tobi is not, as he has not been found guilty of any crimes,” Olawanle stated, dismissing the claims as baseless and uninformed.
