A preliminary magnitude earthquake of 6.0 has struck California’s northern San Francisco bay area early today just before 3.30 a.m, damaging building, starting fires and disrupting power supply.
According to Leslie Gordon of the U.S geological survey, “It is the largest earthquake to shake the bay area since the 6.9 magnitude loma Prieta quake in 1989. The earthquake left three critically injured and dozens injured. Governor Jerry Brown declared a state of emergency, directing state emergencies unit to help the injured, and in putting out fire.
