Veteran Nollywood actor Fatai Odua, popularly known as Lalude, has voiced his frustration and sense of betrayal over the lack of recognition from the All Progressives Congress (APC) following his active involvement in the party’s 2023 election campaign.
In a recently circulated interview on social media, Lalude detailed how he and several fellow actors spent close to two months tirelessly campaigning for President Bola Ahmed Tinubu and Lagos State Governor Babajide Sanwo-Olu.
Despite their efforts, Lalude claimed that the promises made to them were never honored.
“After we campaigned for Tinubu and Sanwo-Olu, we were not given a dime. If I should place a curse on them, it will follow them throughout life,” he said.
He pointed fingers at MC Oluomo, Chairman of the Lagos State Parks Management Committee, for bringing entertainers together in support of APC and making personal pledges he later failed to fulfill.
“It was MC Oluomo that gathered us together to campaign. In fact, he personally promised Alapini and I that we should ask him for anything we wanted. We told him what we wanted but he didn’t fulfil his promise,” Lalude added.
The actor expressed deep hurt over how their hard work and commitment were overlooked after the elections, noting that they gave their all with sincerity and dedication.
“Those that prevented us from receiving money shall be cursed for life,” he declared.
