Lagos State government yesterday said it would close two bridges along Alhaji Masha road in Surulere Local Government Area of the state for 20 days in other to pave way for their repairs and expansion.
The closure according to the Lagos State Government was to enable it continue the bridge expansion joints replacement exercise, saying the repair work on the bridges would take place between Saturday 10th and Friday 30th May, 2014.
Commissioner for Transportation, Comrade Kayode Opeifa who made the announcement, said that the contractor would commence work at Masha Bridge I (Adeniran Ogunsanya Junction) for at least ten 10 days, beginning from Wednesday, 21st May, 2014.
He said:”As part of the traffic management strategies during the exercise on bridges along Alhaji Masha road, vehicular movement in both directions would be restricted. Similarly, vehicles moving inward Alhaji Masha road will use the service lane during the maintenance work.
