Renowned Nigerian actor, filmmaker, and director Kunle Afolayan has voiced his frustration over what he describes as the troubling level of incompetence in the country.
Sharing his thoughts on Instagram, Afolayan highlighted the irony of people lamenting unemployment while failing to perform efficiently when given job opportunities.
“I am deeply saddened by the overwhelming incompetence in our beloved country. Many people complain about not having jobs, but when given the chance, how well do they actually perform? I’m extremely frustrated,” he wrote.
His post sparked widespread discussion, with many agreeing that inefficiency in the workforce remains a major challenge in Nigeria.
Several colleagues in the entertainment industry joined the conversation, sharing their personal experiences.
Actress Biola Bayo commented, “Come and ask me! People apply for jobs, get invited for interviews, and don’t even show up. Those who get hired either fail to resume or simply refuse to work.”
Media personality Stephanie Coker also weighed in, stating, “I spent the entire weekend talking about this.”
Comedian and skit maker Kiekie echoed similar frustrations, writing, “I’m screaming!! This is exactly it! Even if you have all the money in the world, you still won’t get results! The spirit of excellence is completely lacking.”
