Nigerian dancer and singer Kora Obidi has sparked conversations online after sharing her thoughts on what she believes is a shortage of quality men, especially for single mothers.
In a video making the rounds on social media, the entertainer opened up about her personal dating experiences and the challenges she has faced.
“There is a scarcity of good men”
“You know what we don’t talk about? We don’t talk about the scarcity of good men.
It’s until you’re a single mother that you see that there’s a scarcity of good men,” she said.
Kora explained that the reality of the dating scene became clearer to her while raising a child on her own. She described herself as successful, widely recognised, and highly followed online, yet still finding it difficult to meet a suitable partner.
“For me, I’m a freaking superstar! 18 million followers! International global superstar! I see maybe one or two good men in a year, and they’re all taken,” she stated.
She further suggested that many responsible men are already in serious relationships at a young age.
“A good man is taken at 16, 17. The women already know that’s a good man, they’ve already trapped him,” she added.
According to her, men who remain single into their later years sometimes raise questions.
“You see the ones that are there up to 50, they never marry,” she said.
Her remarks have since generated mixed reactions, with many social media users debating her perspective on relationships and modern dating.
