Bayern Munich head coach Vincent Kompany has admitted that his side lost control after the break in their 3-1 Champions League defeat to Arsenal on Wednesday night.
The German champions arrived in London unbeaten in the tournament and hoping to maintain their flawless run.
Arsenal opened the scoring through Jurrien Timber before Lennart Karl finished off a well-worked move to level the match for Bayern.
However, the Gunners dominated the second half, with Noni Madueke and Gabriel Martinelli finding the back of the net to seal the win.
Speaking after the match, Kompany said, “I thought we didn’t have a bad start in the first half, but then conceded from a set piece,” noting that his team briefly regained control to equalize.
He continued: “Even so, we got the momentum back and equalized.
“At half time, my feeling was that we could win the game if we keep it up. But we didn’t find our rhythm in the second half.
“Meanwhile, Arsenal managed to decide the game. They had a very good game management and used the small moments to their favour.
“I won’t look for excuses. We have to say that Arsenal were better. That’s all.”
