Students of the Kogi State Polytechnic, Lokoja have taken to the Lokoja-Abuja highway to protest after one of their colleagues was crushed to death by a truck belonging to Dangote.
Five people reportedly died in the accident, one of whom was a student of Kogi State Polytechnic, this angered students and they began rioting at the international market, along Lokoja-Abuja highway.

According to reports from students of the institution on Facebook, the Kogi State Polytechnic student killed in the accident was a female student. She was about to cross the road on her way to school for an examination when the trailer had a brake failure and crushed her.
Angry students have vandalized the traffic light at the junction and also set the Dangote truck on fire. A student said law enforcement agencies have arrived the scene to restore order.
