Nigerian music star Kizz Daniel has dismissed circulating reports claiming that a court ordered the freezing of his personal and business accounts over a contractual breach.
The viral story alleged that the “Buga” crooner was directed to pay €200,000 in damages for failing to perform at a show after collecting a $50,000 advance, and that his Access Bank accounts were frozen by court order.
Management’s Response
In a statement released on Thursday, September 25, 2025, the singer’s management refuted the claims, calling them false, misleading, and an intentional smear campaign.
“Kizz Daniel has no such case in court, and no accounts have been frozen. We urge fans, partners, and the general public to disregard this fabricated story,”
the statement read in part.
The team emphasized that the artist remains fully focused on his career and upcoming shows.
Plans for Legal Action
Kizz Daniel’s management also warned that they will pursue legal action against those spreading the fake report.
“This is not the first time the artist has been a target of false rumours, but such distractions will not derail him from delivering quality music to his fans worldwide,”
the statement added.
Background Context
The team clarified that the Afrobeats Meets Berlin 2022 controversy, which the viral post referenced, was misrepresented. According to them, the event organizers had used Kizz Daniel’s name and image to market tickets for a festival that never held.
They explained that Kizz Daniel was ready to perform but the promoter failed to meet their own contractual responsibilities, causing confusion that has since been twisted into baseless claims against the singer.
