King Saheed Osupa has sparked widespread reactions online after a video surfaced of him openly discussing his involvement in voodoo during a live performance.

The Fuji star, whose real name is Saheed Okunola, made the remarks while performing at the 52nd birthday celebration of Nollywood actor Fatai Odua on March 30, 2026.

In the viral clip, Osupa addressed his backup singers, advising them to consider spiritual means to improve their performance, especially as they struggled to keep up with him on stage. He also listed certain items they could use, stressing that such practices do not equate to idol worship but are meant to enhance well-being.

He further revealed that he had once been advised to publicly deny using supernatural powers, often referred to as “juju,” but chose to reject that suggestion.

“Somebody told me one time to grant an interview, denying that I use voodoo, but I told him that I am, and why should I deny it. I didn’t kill anyone with my juju or commit evil with it. I am only looking for how to progress. Nothing more.

“That’s why anytime I wake, I always pay obeisance to my Ifa. I don’t know the deity beyond it, because it is worth paying homage to,” he said.

Osupa also claimed that engaging in such practices is common, stating that while some people do it openly, others do so privately.

The video has since triggered mixed reactions across social media, with some defending his honesty while others criticised his stance.
