Social media personality King Michy has publicly apologised after facing criticism over a live video in which she admitted to taking a substance while on camera.
The controversy followed an earlier dispute between her and activist VeryDarkMan, whose real name is Martins Vincent Otse. The disagreement began after King Michy accused him of delaying the use of donated NGO funds and urged him to begin the intended projects.
In a video message shared online, King Michy admitted that her actions were inappropriate and said she had spent time reflecting on her behaviour over the past few days.
She acknowledged the influence she has on younger followers and admitted that her conduct had disappointed many people who look up to her.
The social media personality also offered a public apology to Seyi Tinubu. She explained that although she had already apologised to him privately, she believed it was necessary to do so publicly since the incident occurred in the public space.
She also extended her apology to Adeyeye Ogunwusi, expressing regret for mentioning the traditional ruler’s name during the controversy and for involving him in the situation.
In addition, King Michy apologised to Martins Vincent Otse, noting that she now better understands the advocacy work he is doing and recognises his efforts toward improving Nigeria.
She said:
“I’m ready to be held accountable for my actions. For some days I’ve thought about my behavior and I know that I was wrong and I want to be held accountable for the substance I took on a live video.
