North Korean leader, Kim Jong-Un, has reportedly banned the broadcast of Tottenham Hotspur matches in the country.
According to the UK Sun, the decision stems from the presence of South Korean players in the team, including Spurs captain Son Heung-min.
As a result, Kim Jong-Un will miss Tottenham’s upcoming clash against his favorite team, Manchester United, scheduled for Saturday evening.
This is not the first time North Korea has restricted football coverage due to South Korean players. Last year, Premier League matches involving Wolverhampton Wanderers were not aired because of forward Hwang Hee-chan. Similarly, games featuring Brentford, who have defender Kim Ji-soo, were also excluded.
Football broadcasts in North Korea are heavily modified. Matches are cut from the standard 90 minutes down to just 60, shown before news bulletins, and aired approximately four months after the actual games have taken place.
