The police on Thursday said the report of an autopsy carried out on the two kids found dead inside a vehicle on the premises of Christ Crusaders’ Deliverance Ministry, Matogun, in the Lambe area of Ogun State, died of suffocation.

PUNCH reported that the pastor of the church, Babatunde Olakunle, and a church worker, Adewale Babalola, who were arrested in connection with the incident, had been released on bail.

The Ogun State Police Command, however, said investigation was ongoing on the matter and that the suspects could be prosecuted if any evidence was found against them.

Our correspondent had reported on April 6 that the kids – Isaac Ayegbo and Ayomide Innocent – were were found dead inside the church’s vehicle two days after they were declared missing.

The Ogun State police spokesperson, DSP Muyiwa Adejobi, said, “The autopsy report is out and it says the children died of suffocation. But that is not the end of investigation.

“The suspects are now on bail; but they must be produced whenever their attention is needed.”
