Reality TV star and billionaire heir, Kiddwaya, has come under fire after calling for public donations to support victims of the recent violent attack in Benue State, allegedly carried out by suspected Fulani herdsmen in the Yelewata community.
The tragic incident left multiple casualties and has sparked nationwide outrage.
In response, Kiddwaya, who is a native of Benue, took to social media to announce that his Kiddwaya Foundation is actively working to gather relief materials such as food, shelter, and other essentials for the affected individuals. However, he stressed that public support is needed to scale the impact.
A portion of the statement read:
“At the Kiddwaya Foundation, we are working to provide urgent relief—food, shelter, and critical support—to those affected. But we can’t do it alone. We need your support. Whether it’s ₦500 or ₦500,000, every contribution matters. Use your platform, voice, or time—donate, share, get involved. Let’s show the world Nigerians stand by each other in times of crisis.”
Public Reactions:
However, the donation plea was met with skepticism and criticism from some Nigerians who questioned why a billionaire’s son would be asking ordinary citizens for money.
- @Phay_roh13 commented: “You’re a billionaire, yet you’re asking us for ₦500/₦1000?”
- @zonnaltd alleged: “This is how they make money—use a donation format, keep most of the funds, give the victims crumbs with cameras rolling, then flex in private jets.”
- @bigiykesammy wrote: “Your dad claims he’s worth $2.2 billion, and you’re trying to collect money from the public? Just ask him for $2 million and help your people. This is a scam move.”
- @Arinze_Emma9 reflected: “It’s not just about donations. Many of them supported leaders like Tinubu and Alia, now look—Benue is flooded, and lives are being lost. But they still decorated everywhere for these politicians. Shameful.”
- @comerade01 added: “This guy just opened a business off the suffering of Benue people. In this country, even tragedy becomes a hustle.”
