Nigerian journalist Kemi Olunloyo has leveled new claims against Afrobeats star Davido and actress Iyabo Ojo regarding their alleged connections to the late Mohbad and Naira Marley.
In a post on Facebook, Olunloyo revisited the 2021 burial of Tiwa Savage’s father, noting that both Davido and Iyabo were noticeably absent from the ceremony. She suggested their absence was tied to controversies surrounding them at the time.
Olunloyo alleged that Iyabo Ojo intentionally avoided the burial because Mohbad was scheduled to perform, claiming the late singer had found out she was allegedly arranging hook-ups for his wife, Omowunmi.
On Davido’s side, she claimed the singer skipped the event due to his involvement with Zinoleesky, a top artist under Marlian Music. According to her, Davido sent his aide, Dre DMW, in 2022 to persuade Zinoleesky to join his DMW label, a move aimed at reducing Marlian Music’s dominance.
She further alleged this attempt caused friction between Davido and Naira Marley, who, she said, threw several subtle jabs at him on social media throughout 2024.
“The 2 major celebrities that did not attend Tiwa Savãge’s father’s burial were Davido and Iyabo Ojo. Iyabo avoided due to Mohbad performing. He just found out Iyabo was sending his wife on hookups. Davido, for obvious reasons, sent Dre DMW to Zinoleesky in 2022 to get Zino into DMW. Davido wanted to collapse Marlian Music due to their endless success. This is why NM shaded David in tweets throughout 2024. They do not speak,” she wrote.
