Nollywood actress Kate Henshaw has fired back at a social media user who resurfaced details of her past relationship with the late gospel singer Sammie Okposo, during which she had revealed he was physically abusive.
The troll shared an old news article on Twitter where Henshaw previously disclosed that Okposo used to beat her during their relationship, which reportedly lasted between three and four years in the early 2000s.
Mocking her personal life, the troll took a jab at the actress, suggesting that her experiences with men had left her “bitter and husbandless.”
The message read: “Aunty Kate, I heard someone say that you’re just a bitter old ‘agbaya’ woman because you’ve been let down by men too many times and ended up ‘husbandless’. Is that true?”
In her response, Kate Henshaw acknowledged the experience but clarified that it made her a stronger person—not a bitter one.
She wrote,
“Awwww, I am still here, though. These things happen, and I am better not bitter. Can’t say the same for the females in your family. I saw one at farmcity the other night. I hope the pay she brought home fed the family for the night, though. I am good, to be honest. Next…..”.
