Canadian pop star Justin Bieber has taken to Instagram to candidly share his ongoing battle with mental and emotional exhaustion. In a heartfelt post on Monday, he expressed feeling overwhelmed, broken, and worn out by the constant pressure to heal and meet others’ expectations.
Bieber reflected on the toll self-improvement has taken on him, explaining that the more he tries to grow, the more inwardly focused he becomes—something he finds draining.
“The more I try to grow, the more self-focused I become, and it’s exhausting,” he wrote. “I’m tired of thinking about myself.”
The artist admitted that repeated calls for him to “heal” have become more harmful than helpful, compounding his frustration and emotional fatigue.
“People keep telling me to heal, don’t you think if I could have fixed myself, I would have already? I know I’m broken and I know I have anger issues.”
Bieber also opened up about the burden of constantly striving to meet standards set by others, describing how it has only worsened his mental state over the years.
“I tried to do the work my whole life to be like the people who told me I needed to be fixed like them. It just keeps making me more tired and more angry. The harder I try to grow, the more focused on myself I am.”
In a powerful moment of vulnerability, Bieber credited his faith in Jesus for helping him shift his focus from himself to others.
“Jesus is the only person who keeps me wanting to make my life about others. Because honestly, I’m exhausted with thinking about myself lately. Aren’t you?”
The post has sparked conversations about the emotional toll of fame, personal growth, and the importance of mental health support, especially for public figures constantly in the spotlight.
