The Federal Government has announced the closure of the Third Mainland Bridge in Lagos for repairs from midnight on Saturday, October 21, to midnight on Sunday, October 22. Mrs Olukorede Kesha, the Federal Controller of Works in Lagos State, stated that the government will begin comprehensive rehabilitation work on the bridge, starting with repairs on the critical sections. She also mentioned that the Ministry would carry out palliative works on the most critically failed sections along the Adeniji bound carriageway on Sunday, Oct. 22, to alleviate the current traffic situation on the bridge before the comprehensive repair works commence. Motorists are advised to cooperate with traffic management officials, follow all diversions, and use alternative routes during the period of the palliative works as the Adeniji bound of the bridge will be closed to traffic from Saturday, Oct. 21 to Sunday, Oct. 22, midnight.
