The African Nations Championship otherwise known as CHAN kicks off tomorrow. The tournament is contested by locally based players around Africa from sixteen different countries.
CHAN 2014 is hosted by South Africa across four venues namely;
Cape town Stadium,Athlone Stadium,Freestate Stadium,Peter Mokaba Stadium.
The Cape Town Stadium is going to host the opening ceremony, all Group A games, the Quarter Finals and the Final.
The Athlone Stadium is going to host all Group B games.
The Freestate Stadium is going to host all Group C games while all Group D games would be hosted at Peter Mokaba Stadium.
Sixteen countries are going to battle it out for the championship.
The Countries are;South Africa, Burkina Faso, Burundi, Congo Brazzaville, Democratic Republic Of Congo, Ethiopia, Gabon, Ghana, Libya, Mali, Mauritania, Morocco, Nigeria, Uganda, Zimbabwe and Mozambique.
Nigeria’s home based team is participating in this tournament for the first time.
It is also the first time in Mauritania’s history that they are qualifying for a Continental Cup Competition.
