Joshua Fred, an 11-year-old boy, earned the Lagos government’s boy child initiative prize for programming a calculator.
Claudina Ibijoke Sanwo-Olu, the first lady of Lagos State, initiated the “boy child initiative” to persuade parents to teach their male offspring how to be contributing members of society.

Joshua Fred, an 11-year-old kid, received a cash prize of N450,000 from the First Lady of Lagos State for winning the junior boy category of the award.
Ngozi Emereole Fred, his delighted mother, posted the news on Facebook and stated;
“Congratulations to my boy Josh. Champion Junior category of First lady of Lagos state talent hunt. No be everyday we get opportunity to go to state House. I remember how this journey started. Thank God today, your passion has made you a champion. So proud of you my boy. Recall that a school in the United Kingdom employed a 10-year-old Nigerian girl to teach coding three years ago.
The after-school coding club instructor at Southfield Primary School in Coventry, England, was Emmanuella Mayaki, a prodigy in coding and programming.
She would be in charge of instructing other children her age about the fundamentals of coding, including HTML and CSS, Face 2 Face Africa stated at the time.
