Renowned wrestler and actor John Cena surprised his fans by declaring his retirement from World Wrestling Entertainment (WWE) competitions at the recent WWE Money in the Bank event in Canada. During the event, the 47-year-old icon, who has successfully transitioned into acting over the past 18 years, announced that his final in-ring performance will be part of a farewell tour in 2025.
Cena, widely considered one of the greatest professional wrestlers in history, has accomplished an impressive 16 world champion titles since he joined WWE in 2001. Speaking to the audience in Toronto, he stated, “Tonight, I officially announce my retirement from the WWE.“ The crowd reacted with a combination of surprise and gratitude, chanting “thank you, Cena” in a touching display.
Wearing a t-shirt with the phrase “The Last Time is Now” and his iconic denim shorts, Cena expressed his appreciation to WWE fans for welcoming him into their community for so many years. Subsequently, during a press conference, he confirmed his plans to continue his involvement with WWE in some capacity, despite feeling physically exhausted.
