Nigerian singer Jaywon has issued a public apology to Ayra Starr following backlash over his comments about her exclusion from the 2025 Grammy nominations.

In his tweet, Jaywon praised Ayra Starr’s remarkable vocal abilities, calling her one of Africa’s finest female vocalists. He wrote, “If you see Ayra Starr, tell her I’m sorry about the Grammy snub. I’m a big fan of her music, and I truly believe she’s one of Africa’s best female voices.”
He added, “Here, we lift each other up. We’re about growth, not just for now, but for the future.”
