Renowned American actor and musician, Jamie Foxx, has revealed the details of his battle with a brain bleed that resulted in a stroke.
In a new Netflix special, the 56-year-old actor discussed the events surrounding his hospitalization in 2023. Foxx explained that he experienced a severe headache on April 11, 2023, and asked a friend for aspirin, but before he could take it, he lost consciousness. He later “blacked out” for 20 days.
Foxx was admitted to Piedmont Hospital, where it was discovered that he had suffered a brain bleed that led to a stroke.
“It’s still a mystery. We don’t know exactly what happened,” Foxx shared. “I had this intense headache and asked my friend for aspirin, but realized quickly that your friends don’t always know how to handle medical emergencies. Before I could get the aspirin, I passed out, and I don’t remember anything for 20 days.”
When he woke from the coma, Foxx found himself in a wheelchair, unable to walk.
