Apartment number 10 where the mastermind of the Colorado cinema massacre, James Holmes lives has been cleared of dangerous explosives.
Local police and Federal agents who have been trying to gain entrance to Mr. Holmes heavily bobby-trapped home since Friday finally gained entrance late Saturday night, at a point robots were used to set off the devices.
Police believe that the orchestrated attack had been planned for months, reports have quoted the police as saying that the suspect acted with “calculation and deliberation” and had been stockpiling ammunition for months.
The Aurora police confirmed that all explosives have been removed from the apartment and that FBI agents had gone inside to examine other evidence.
Police Chief,Dan Oates, said he and his officers felt targeted by the elaborate network of explosives in Holmes’s apartment.
“This apartment was designed, I say, based on everything I’ve seen, to kill whoever entered it,” Oates said at a news briefing. “It was gonna be a police officer, okay? Make no mistake about what was going on there. You think we’re angry, we sure as hell are angry.”
Meanwhile, Arapahoe county coroner has released the names of the dead. All the victims’ deaths were related to gunshot wounds.
A six-year-old girl whose mother was injured, and two US servicemen were among the dead.
Mr. Holmes who made the horror happen is being held in solitary confinement and will appear in court 9:oo a.m. Monday morning.
President Barack Obama is expected in Colorado this morning, he will be visiting families of the bereaved to share in their grief.
