Actress Iyabo Ojo has fired back at social commentator Verydarkman, refuting his claims that she failed to uphold an agreement to issue a public apology to Naira Marley and Sam Larry.
The clash follows Verydarkman’s recent revelation about a meeting at the Nigeria Police Force National Cybercrime Centre (NPF NCCC), which reportedly involved Iyabo, Tonto Dikeh, Naira Marley, Sam Larry, and their legal teams. According to him, Iyabo had sworn to apologize for accusing the duo of involvement in Mohbad’s death, but later backed out.
In response, Iyabo went live on TikTok to address the allegations, accusing Verydarkman of twisting the facts and using manipulative tactics.
“So you had to come out and do your normal manipulating tactic. I’m a very wise woman. I’m not like you that’s very deceitful and corny. You’ve tried in all your might to bring me down, but you cannot,” she said.
Iyabo explained her stance, noting that her initial accusations were based on alarming videos and reports that surfaced after Mohbad’s passing in 2023.
“I used to promote Naira Marley’s songs until Mohbad died. I saw a video of Naira Marley dancing after Mohbad’s death, I was angry,” she recalled.
She added that further footage involving Sam Larry confronting Mohbad and Zlatan Ibile convinced her of the bullying claims, prompting her to speak out as a mother and concerned citizen.
“I saw Sam Larry’s video where he accosted Zlatan Ibile and Mohbad; that was when I believed the bullying allegation. As a concerned citizen and a mother, I used my platforms,” Iyabo explained.
