Nollywood actress Iyabo Ojo has showered her daughter, Priscilla Ojo, with emotional blessings during her baby shower ceremony in Canada, expressing strong hopes for a lasting and successful marriage for the soon-to-be mother.

This touching moment comes shortly after Priscilla’s pregnancy with Tanzanian singer Juma Jux was made public. The mother-daughter duo traveled to Canada for the celebration, where Iyabo gave a heartfelt speech.

In a video from the event, Iyabo, visibly emotional, declared:

“Priscilla, your marriage will work. You will grow old with your husband because in God you have married right. If mine did not work, yours will work, for I have paid that sacrifice for yours to work.”

She also addressed criticism over the extravagant wedding ceremony, defending her choices as a mother and emphasizing the importance of ending cycles of hardship and failed relationships.

“I want to use this to encourage a lot of mothers out there. We go through a lot. When people saw the wedding, they were like, ‘Iyabo, why this and that?’ But for me to be here today, I made the decision, whether good or bad, it is my burden to carry. And I will never deprive my children of their blessings, no matter the situation.”

Iyabo concluded her remarks with a message on spiritual growth and healing:

“There’s something called ancestral curses; for you to break it, you must stop it.”

The heartfelt message has since stirred emotional reactions online.
