Isaac Fayose has shared his opinion on why Nigerian security personnel often display aggressive behaviour, linking it to poor remuneration.
In a video posted on his Instagram page while in Cape Town, Fayose claimed that the salary structure for soldiers in Nigeria is significantly lower compared to their counterparts in South Africa. According to him, a South African soldier earns about ₦2 million monthly, while a Nigerian soldier earns roughly that amount in a year.
He argued that this disparity contributes to the frustration seen among Nigerian security officers, affecting how they interact with both colleagues and civilians.
Fayose made the remarks while reacting to a viral video showing naval and army personnel clashing during Bola Ahmed Tinubu’s visit to Bayelsa State on April 10.
‘’The reason why they are fighting each other is because they are frustrated and they are underpaid” he said
