Another airplane disaster was averted on Wednesday morning at the Muritala Muhammed Airport (MMA2) in Lagos when an AIR Airline’s plane ran into a truck on the runway while trying to take off.
The plane which was billed to move passengers from the commercial city of Lagos to Abuja, the federal capital territory was made to abort the journey as a result of the incident.
Information on why the truck was on the run way and why relevant agencies’ personnel did not observe that it poses a great danger to aircraft and passengers remain sketchy.
But a source on the ground told Olufamous.com that an investigation has already commenced to ascertain the extent of damage to the IRS plane and the reason for such negligence.
