The Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) has postponed the collation of presidential election results for 2023 at Abuja’s International Conference Centre.
At 12 p.m. on Tuesday, INEC National Commissioner Festus Okoye announced that collation would resume at 2 p.m. He explained that, while results from five states are currently available, the commission anticipates that at least ten more states will join today’s collation.
The collection of state results began on Sunday, February 26.
Collation had ended a few minutes after 10 p.m. on Monday, February 27.
Mahmood Yakubu, the INEC National Chairman, had adjourned the collation to 11 a.m. on Tuesday, February 28, to allow state collation officers for the presidential election (SCOPs) in the remaining states.
However, at 12 p.m., Okoye addressed the media and announced that the collation had been moved to 2 p.m. today, according to a Channels TV report.
