The man was rescued on Wednesday, according to DSP Mohammed Jalige, spokesman for the state police command.
“The man was found naked and locked up in a room at a house located on Bayajidda road in Kaduna,” he said. When a police team arrived at the house, the residents fled.”
Jalige stated that a thorough investigation would be carried out to determine the root cause of the problem.
According to him, environmental officers went to the house on Wednesday morning to check on some beverages stored there, but they discovered a man locked in a room.
According to a source, the man had been confined to the room for more than 20 years.
According to him, the environmental officers reported to the Magajin Gari Police Division, and the Commissioner of Police directed that the victim be evacuated.
According to the police spokesman, the Commissioner also ordered a full-scale investigation into the incident to determine what happened and why the man was kept in isolation for so long.
