Divine Nwaneri, an 100-level student of the Imo State University (IMSU), has allegedly been shot dead by a military personnel in Owerri.

The unfortunate incident occurred around the Imo state government House Roundabout in Owerri on Sunday, April 25.

The 24-year-old was reportedly on her way home around 10pm when she was hit by a stray bullet allegedly fired by one of the soldiers stationed at the Government house.

According to a source, the Soil Science and Biotechnology student was rushed to the hospital but was confirmed dead on arrival.

The source said,

“The soldiers were shooting at a car, when Divine and others were hit by stray bullets. She was rushed to the Federal Medical Center (FMC), Owerri, where she was confirmed dead. Others are currently receiving treatment at the hospital.”

A while ago, five police officers were also confirmed dead after a bunch of hoodlums attacked the Okigwe South Area command in Imo, on Monday April 26.
