Imo Deputy Governor, Prince Eze Madumere has called on Imo women to vote All Progressives Congress candidates at all levels, saying it is the only party that has all it takes to make the needed positive change to take Nigeria out of the woods.
The Imo number two citizen made this comment at his country home, Lake Malinda in Achi Mbieri, Mbaitoli Local Government Area while playing host to the women of Mbaitoli-Ikeduru Federal Constituency in fulfillment of his promise to them.
Speaking at a well attended even, Prince Madumere recounted the positive impact so far experienced since the inception of Owelle Rochas Okorocha government especially on the part of women. He said free education created a near egalitarian system where there is equal opportunity for both the rich and poor in having access to qualitative education.
Speaking further, Prince Madumere charged women to ensure they come out en mass to vote massively for All progressives Congress, saying women have always been the real agent historical changes. He urged them to insist on voting APC candidates as they have are the real agents of positive change Nigeria needs at its present state of despair.
He appealed to the women to vote for Major General Buhari who has a track record of decency, performance with requisite experience to end insurgency, which has in no little measure contributed to the present downturn in Nigeria’s economy. Imo number two citizen and Governor Okorocha’s running mate for 2015 guber elections believed that corruption remains the hydra-headed monster making Nigeria’s economy to remain stagnant, which he says Buhari will curb as he anticipant and zero tolerance to corruption.
He urged the women to disregard the lies from Peoples Democratic Party that Buhari is an extremist as he has a antecedent of working with Igbos whom he had relied upon especially in sensitive areas of trust. Speaking further, he said Buhari while still as the Head of State had many Igbo sons on his cabinet. He therefore charged them to vote Buhari, Governor Okorocha and other candidates at all levels.
He also used the opportunity to present All Progressives Congress candidates vying for various positions from House of Assembly to National Assembly.
Prince Madumere popularly known as Mr. Humility told the mammoth crowd in attendance to jettison those throwing up unfounded claims that APC belongs to an ethnic political party saying the party is a more balanced Nigerian party.
The high point of the event was when he was asked if he was running with Gov. Okorocha in his re-election bid and in response, Prince Madumere in his words said; “there is no vacancy in Douglas House. It is Governor Okorocha who has graciously presented me as his running mate. The revelation was received with electric shout of joy.
In his conclusion, he said in fulfillment of his promise to host the women for both Christmas and New Year, he has total cash gift of N3.6 million naira where N2.1 million goes to women of Mbaitoli women and N1.5 to their Ikeduru counterparts. He also gave out a total of 1,068 fifty Kg bags of rice. In distribution, 627 bags were donated to Mbaitoli women while 441 bags to Ikeduru local government women.
Meanwhile, a Senatorial woman leader of All progressives Congress, Rivers State chapter, Mrs. Nwanu Felix spoke to the women urging them to ensure that Governor Okorochas with his running mate, Prince Eze Madumere are voted back to power to sustain the good work.
She urged them never to allow those who ran the State aground to deceive them in whatever guise. He commended the women for their resolute and decisive in whatever path they taken. She promised to always present herself whenever she is needed by the women. Others who took turns to speak were the APC candidate for Ikeduru Local Government Constituency for House Assembly, Dr.Uche Oguwike, his Mbaitoli counterpart, Ifeanyi Anapuruonye popularly known as Olugbu and Chief I.B Okafor, APC House of Representatives candidate for Mbaitolu-Ikeduru Federal Constituency and many other women leaders.
