Cristiano Ronaldo, one of the greatest footballers of his era and the most-followed individual on social media, has expressed that his massive online following does not come as a surprise to him.
The football star, famously known as CR7, shared his thoughts during a conversation with YouTube sensation MrBeast on the latest episode of his YouTube channel, UR Cristiano.
In the video, released on Thursday, Ronaldo reflected on the milestone of reaching one billion followers across all social media platforms, describing it as a gratifying accomplishment but not an unexpected one.
He attributed his widespread popularity to the global admiration for both his career and the sport of football. Ronaldo acknowledged that the unwavering support of his fans worldwide made the achievement feel natural.
“It’s a good achievement, but honestly, I wasn’t surprised,” Ronaldo said. “I understand the passion people have for me and for football. With the career I’ve built, I’ve always felt that passion, so it wasn’t surprising. I feel happy, but at the same time, it was expected.”
Back in September, Ronaldo made history by becoming the first individual to surpass one billion followers across all social media platforms.
