BBNaija personality Phyna expresses her distress over facing judgment and criticism for a past abortion, revealing remorse for the decision. The reality star had previously disclosed the abortion and faced substantial backlash for her stance on the matter.
In a recent podcast with Doyin, Phyna admits that she is not proud of having undergone the abortion, emphasizing that, if faced with a similar situation now, she would choose to keep the child. She clarifies that her widely circulated statement about every woman having experienced abortion was misconstrued by the media to fit their narrative.
Phyna, who shares that she underwent the abortion at the age of 20, describes the pregnancy as a mistake and explains that she opted for the procedure to prevent it from adversely affecting her future.
She said:
“I didn’t want to talk about it [abortion] anymore because it is obvious a lot of bloggers try to twist my words to their satisfaction. This is something that happened a very long time ago, too young, as at then I think around 20 years, I knew I wanted to be somebody in life.
“It’s not something I am proud of, I mean nobody should be proud of that, but this happened while I was younger. I knew what I went through. Nobody knew what I went through, it’s not something I am proud of but let’s call a spade a spade.”
