Atiku Abubakar, the Peoples Democratic Party’s (PDP) presidential candidate for the 2023 election and a former vice president of Nigeria, sets the terms on which he will drop his legal case against President Bola Tinubu.
Atiku persisted with his legal actions in the United States despite coming in second place and having his petition disputing the president’s win rejected by the Presidential Tribunal.

He contended that Tinubu’s certifications to INEC contained errors that, in his opinion, should have disqualified him from running for office.
Atiku stressed during a news conference on Thursday in Abuja that he was not ready to give up on his quest for justice.
“I’ve already appealed his ruling to the Supreme Court. I won’t continue this fight until the court rules that he is correct; in other words, I won’t continue this fight until the court rules since the Supreme Court is the highest court,” he said.
When asked if President Tinubu had pressured him to drop his lawsuit, Atiku said he had become aware of a group of governors the president had sent to speak with him after the election.
The PDP presidential candidate said, “I didn’t even allow them to come to my house,” which brought about chuckles from the audience.
