Afrobeats artist Kizz Daniel has promised to quit music if anyone other than Runtown comes forward claiming they have written a song for him.
Kizz Daniel took to his X account to express his appreciation for Runtown, revealing that he was the first person ever to write a song for him.
“For the first time in my life, someone wrote a song for me, and it’s Runtown… Sound God is not human,” he posted.
When an X user, @KTwinBlog, questioned the claim, asking, “For the first… you sure?”, Kizz Daniel firmly replied, “Let anyone come out and say they wrote for me, I’ll quit music right now.”
While using songwriters is common worldwide, it’s often undervalued in Nigeria, where fans tend to believe that artists who rely on songwriters lack talent. Davido, for example, has faced criticism for admitting to using them.
