Nigerian rapper Falz addresses the defamation case he filed against social media personality VeryDarkMan (VDM), which arose after VDM accused Falz and his father, Femi Falana, of helping Bobrisky escape money laundering charges.
During an appearance on the Afrobeats Podcast, Falz explained that despite trying to calmly resolve the issue, VDM was defensive from the start. Falz recounted how VDM told him, “you’re a lawyer, go to court,” which prompted him to pursue legal action.
Falz also mentioned that although defamation can lead to criminal charges, he opted not to take that route but instead asked VDM to take down the false claims and apologize, which VDM refused to do.
The rapper expressed his frustration, particularly with the disrespect directed at his father, a human rights lawyer, saying he couldn’t stay silent after such accusations.
