Social media personality Martins Otse, popularly known as VeryDarkMan, has openly endorsed Seyi Tinubu, the son of President Bola Tinubu, for the 2027 Lagos gubernatorial election.
In a video shared on Instagram, VeryDarkMan expressed his belief that Seyi’s candidacy could mark a turning point in Nigerian politics. He highlighted that Seyi embodies a fresh wave of leadership, representing a shift towards younger individuals taking on significant political roles and moving away from the dominance of older, established politicians.
Currently 39 years old, Seyi would be 42 during the election, potentially making him the youngest governor in Lagos State’s history.
VeryDarkMan noted that Seyi appears to mirror his father’s political approach, strategically building a network of loyal supporters. He suggested that this network, particularly among younger people who are often more adaptable, could play a key role in Seyi’s campaign and eventual governance.
He also shared his belief that Seyi’s leadership could pave the way for more young politicians to rise to prominence, not just in Lagos but across Nigeria, which he views as essential for the nation’s political future.
Declaring his support, VeryDarkMan stated, “If Seyi Tinubu decides to run for governorship, I’ll campaign for him. I don’t typically engage in politics, but I’ll make an exception for Seyi Tinubu.”
He further added, “In my view, Seyi Tinubu holds the potential to achieve something I strongly desire—progress for Nigeria.”
