Popular singer Raoul John Njeng-Njeng, known as Skales, recently revealed that he penned several hit songs for his colleague Wizkid during their time at Empire Mates Entertainment (EME).
Speaking on ‘Curiosity Made Me Ask,’ hosted by content creator Bae U Barbie, Skales shared that he co-wrote some tracks on Wizkid’s debut album *Super Star*, including the bonus song ‘Wiz Party.’
He also acknowledged that Wizkid contributed to his music, noting that Wizkid wrote the hit track ‘Mukulu’ for him.
“In EME, we worked as a team, writing songs for each other,” Skales said. “I wrote songs for Wizkid, and he also wrote songs for me. He wrote ‘Mukulu’ for me, and I wrote ‘Wiz Party’ for him. EME was all about teamwork.”
Both Skales and Wizkid were among the first artists signed by R&B star and music executive Banky W in the early 2010s, which helped launch their careers.
However, the duo eventually left the label following disagreements with Banky W. In a past interview with Ebuka Obi-Uchendu, Banky W disclosed that Wizkid still owed the label three albums under his original contract.
