Hermes Iyele, a former Big Brother Naija housemate and model, has addressed Biodun Stephen’s query regarding his British accent. Previously, the BBNaija star had criticized a specific bank on Instagram, asserting that they made him look foolish during an event. He received an invitation to a bank function but was denied entry by security because his name was absent from the guest list, and the bank organizers did not take steps to protect his reputation.
Biodun Stephen, an award-winning director, was puzzled by his distinct accent and asked about its origin in the comments section of the post.
In response, Hermes stated that despite his upbringing in a less privileged area, he has undergone a transformation. He asserted that he worked diligently to better himself and expressed contentment with the person he has become.
He said: “Those of you complaining about my accent, I know how much hard work I put into reinventing myself. I know exactly where I come from, to be exact, it’s a slum. Imagine the amount of hard work I put into this. I talk like this, and I am very proud of it. I can say it anywhere”.
