Santos forward Neymar has issued a passionate promise to the Brazilian nation and head coach Carlo Ancelotti as the team prepares for the upcoming FIFA World Cup.
The Pledge
The former Barcelona superstar vowed to do whatever it takes to secure the trophy next summer. Additionally, he made a specific personal commitment to score in the final match, provided Ancelotti leads the team that far.
He declared:
“We are going to do the possible and also the impossible to bring the World Cup to Brazil.”
“In July, you can hold me accountable. Hey Ancelotti, help us! If we get to the final… I promise I will score a goal,”
The Road to Recovery
Neymar’s determination comes after a long absence from the national team setup. The 33-year-old has not featured for the Seleção since suffering a devastating ACL and meniscus injury during a qualifier against Uruguay in October 2023. He is now hoping to prove his fitness and earn a crucial call-up from Ancelotti before the tournament kicks off.
