Nollywood actress Bimbo Ademoye has raised a public alarm after her movie, Where Love Lives, was allegedly demonetized due to a fraudulent copyright claim.
The Accusation
In a video addressing the situation, the actress identified one Emmanuel Davis of Lagos Sounds as the culprit. She explained that a specific song was composed for her movie by an artist named Uzor, who intentionally kept it unreleased to avoid piracy issues. However, she alleges that Davis uploaded the track, claimed ownership of it, and is now diverting the revenue generated by her movie to himself.
Seeking Justice
Ademoye emphasized that she is a person of integrity who would never claim what isn’t hers. She vowed to ensure Davis is held accountable for his actions.
A History of Losses
The actress also used the opportunity to address a separate copyright nightmare involving an individual named Anwuli, which allegedly caused her to lose a video that had amassed six million views. She revealed that the individual sought an out-of-court settlement, but she rejected it, insisting that the matter must be resolved legally to prevent further occurrences.
