Divine Ikubor, a.k.a. Rema, a well-known Nigerian musician and Afrobeats Award winner, has disclosed that he wants to work with more female American superstars like Nicki Minaj and Megan Thee Stallion.
Rema explicitly stated he wants to collaborate with female celebs more in an interview with the Hollywood Reporter on Tuesday at the 2023 MTV Video Music Awards in New Jersey.
Rappers Nicki Minaj and Megan Thee Stallion were highlighted as some of the artists he was looking forward to working with in the near future.
He said, “I’m hoping to meet Meg [Thee Stallion], Nicki [Minaj] for possible collaborations. Who else? Yeah, I wanna link up with girls dem.”
This is coming on the heels of the success of his smash-hit with Selena Gomez, ‘Calm Down.’
Recall that Rema beat Wizkid, Davido, Burna Boy and others to become the first-ever winner of the newly created “Best Afrobeats Song” during the 2023 MTV Video Music Awards at the Prudential Center in Newark, New Jersey, USA, on Tuesday.
