Mfon Jeremiah admitted to sleeping with his daughter, which resulted in the pregnancy, but claimed he was under a spell at the time.
Mfon Jeremiah, 39, was arrested by men from the Ogun State Police Command in the Mowe area of the state for impregnating his 13-year-old daughter (name withheld).
The suspect was apprehended after the victim’s mother filed a complaint at Mowe divisional headquarters after learning that her daughter was pregnant and that her husband was to blame.
She was said to have taken the minor to the hospital, where it was discovered that she is four months pregnant. After being questioned about who had impregnated her, the 13-year-old girl revealed that it was her father.
Following the complaint, the DPO, SP Folake Afeniforo, quickly dispatched some officers to the suspect’s home, where he was arrested.
During questioning, the suspect admitted to sleeping with his daughter, which resulted in the pregnancy, but claimed he was under a spell at the time.
According to him, he was ‘dreaming’ of having sex with his wife because they had broken up when he suddenly realized he was having sex with his daughter.
The Commissioner of Police, CP Lanre Bankole, has directed that the suspect be transferred to the state Criminal Investigation Departments’ anti-human trafficking and child labor units for further investigation.
