A woman in Nigeria has stirred major online conversation after revealing her terrifying ordeal following a Brazilian Butt Lift (BBL) procedure. The surgery, done in Lagos, turned disastrous when she later discovered the person who operated on her was not a certified plastic surgeon.
In a heartfelt video posted on X (formerly Twitter) by @dammiedammie35, she urged other women considering cosmetic procedures to do thorough research. After seeing influencers promote a clinic, she went ahead with the surgery in April, only for things to go horribly wrong just a few days later.
She said:
“You want to get your body done, BBL or liposuction, but do you know you have to make your own research? I got my body done in April and it was the worst mistake of my life. I used over ₦7 million to treat complications, I’m not exaggerating o.”
Her message: don’t rely solely on influencer endorsements. She warns people to check whether the doctor is genuinely qualified. She also cautioned that seemingly reputable hospitals might still allow unqualified personnel to perform serious procedures.
Her story has drawn sympathy and sparked conversations about the dangers of unlicensed cosmetic surgery. Many online users are questioning the glamorisation of cosmetic enhancements, especially when influenced by social media.
